" Wendy's enthusiasm for salsa is contagious, as an instructor she makes students feel comfortable, meeting them at their skill level while simultaniously encouraging them to reach their full potential " -Student
A note from wendy: For me, Latin dancing is social dancing, which means that I see every person for who they are and what they bring to the table..and what they want from the table. I choose to get to know my students- And allow my students to get to know me. That's what makes social dancing social, and then we take that to the dance floor! This is also why we are more than dancers, we are a community. Come join us!
I teach SALSA "ON1" also known as "LA Style" ( I dance on both 1 and 2)
Description:
New Beginner Salsa & Beginner II
Beginner sessions are structure for the complete novice to give you a solid foundation to build upon.. and just enough to get you started on the dance floor. Learn timing footwork and basic moves, a few variations and how to put them together to form...A DANCE!
Many times people will do one or 2 rounds of this.. take it to the social dances for a while.. and then come back to build there skills in a more advanced class... the time frame is up to you once you have this under your belt:).
Beginner II is a continuation of a beginner session until students are ready for an advanced beginner class
Description:
Refresher &Advanced Beg Salsa
Refresher is exactly that. A speedy review of what is covered in the Beginner Sessions if there is a lapse in classes before jumping into a Beginner II or Advanced Beginner class.
Advanced Beginner Salsa takes the basics that you know, strengthens your technique and builds upon those moves to begin forming more intricate patterns, more complicated variations and still adding in new moves.
Hopefully as you progress with this class, you can begin to feel more confident on the social dance floor.. and actually start to fill in a whole song! This is usually the point at which you know if you are hooked or not)!
Description:
Bachata
Bachata is a different style of Latin Dance originating in the Dominican Republic. I like to teach classic or "traditional' style vs the newly developing style of Sensual Bachata.

Intermediate Salsa & advanced intErmediate
Intermediate level is where we start to get fancy! Working on more complicated moves and patterns Adding multiple turns and syncopated steps.. playing more with rhythms and hand changes with moves like the "Gyro wheel" and "Tricky Hands". We incorporate more detailed technique. When you make it to this class, you may proudly call yourself a Salsera/Salsero:)!
Advanced Intermediate continue that incorporating longer patterns and moving through material at a slightly quicker rate.
